Plants do not have specialized system for excretion just like animals but it is not difficult for plants to get rid of waste in them. They excrete waste from them by the following processes:

  • Transpiration - The excess water in plants is released in air through the tiny pore known as stomata. This process is known as transpiration.
  • Diffusion – Aquatic plants diffuse the waste in the water.
  • Storing – Waste in plant is also stored in the stems and leaves. Some plants release latex, oil and some other sticky material as waste. Terrestrial plants release their waste directly into the soil.
  • During photosynthesis plants also release oxygen as a byproduct.
