animals need to digest the food they eat, because the food needs to be broken down so that it can be used by the body, but plants make their own food, so they dont need to digest anything

The whole idea of digestion is to convert food into energy for animals it takes place in digestive system in plants to energy is produced by breakdown of molecules through C2,C3 and C4 cycle and stored in the form of ATP.
