Venus fly trap is a carnivorous plant. They respond to the prey with the help of triggered hairs present on the trap. These traps have few sensor cells on it. When the prey such as an insect comes in contact with the hairs twice then only the trap responds.

The hairs present in the trap is the reason for its ability to catch the pray. When the insect touches these hairs the impulse pass on through the sensory cells and they catch the pray.
