Hi dear!!!  Yeh, you are right. In the day time plants take in Carbon Dioxide (CO2 )for photosynthesis. They do take oxygen but in less quantity as all living things require oxygen to survive. Whereas in night it only inhales oxygen.  Hope it helps

A common myth states that, at night, plants compete with people foroxygen! All plants and animals on earth engage in a process called respiration. Respiration combinesoxygen and the food created during photosynthesis to produce usable energy. One of the byproducts of respiration is carbon dioxide.
