Light energy is transferred into chemical energy. These reactions take place on the thylakoid membrane inside the cloroplast.

Phtosynthethis is the process by which green leaves in the presence of chlorophyll makes food in the presence of sunlight and carbon dioxide. In the process, Oxygen is released as a by product. A chlorophyll is present in chloroplasts.
