because they do not locomote and do not perform extra usual activities which are performed by animals .hence they use a very little amount of energy as compared to animals

plants are situated in a specific region and do not move that itself conserves a lot of energy comparing to work did by animals also they only use one part of their body called root to absorb food and water so the energy they require is only used in photosynthesis thus they only need less energy than animals
