Mechanism-

Photosynthesis is a biochemical process during which conversion of light energy into chemical energy takes place.

The chlorophyll present in leaves of plants receives the solar energy ,which is converted into chemical energy ,to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen ( hydrolysis). This hydrogen combines with diffused carbon dioxide to form glucose.
