Hola dear ^_^
⬇ANSWER⬇
Water passes through the plasma membrane both inwardly as well as outwardly. Net movement occurs along its concentration gradient, from the side of pure water or dilute solution (high water concentration) to the side of concentrated solution (low water concentration). A cell placed in dilute solution (hypotonic solution) will show endosmosis because the external solution has higher concentration of water. A cell placed in hypertonic solution (i.e., concentrated solution) will show exosmosis because cell sap has higher concentration of water.
