In the presence of moisture, plaster of Paris gets hydrated and changes to Gypsum which is a hard mass.
CaSO₄.1/2 H₂O + 3/2 H₂O(Plaster of Paris) → CaSO₄.2H₂O (Gypsum)
Plaster of Paris must be always stored in air-tight bags. In case moisture is present, it will slowly change into Gypsum which is very hard. This means that it will be no longer be useful either for setting fractured bones or in making moulds. Therefore, plaster of Paris is kept in moisture proof containers or bags.

☺ Hello mate__ ❤
◾◾here is your answer...
➽Plaster of Paris (POP) should be stored in a moisture-proof container because Plaster of Paris, a powdery mass, absorbs water (moisture) to form a hard solid known as gypsum.

Reaction :--
CaSO4.1/2 H2O + 3/2 H2O ----> CaSO4.2H2O
Here
1) CaSO4.1/2 H2O --POP
2) CaSO4.2H2O -- gypsum
I hope, this will help you
Thank you______❤
