so plastics r not affected in any way

Polythene or Polymers, in general, are bad conductors of heat due to the fact that they don't have a proper structure in place, like metals which are good conductors of heat as well as of electricity have a proper crystal structure(FCC or BCC ), a solid state structure which helps in transfer of energy.......
