Plastic is also easy to give shape since almost all plastics, especially thermoplastics can be deformed simply by applying heat and once the shape is given, it can be cooled down to solidify completely. Thermoplastic polymers are given shape by forcefully passing it in a die or mold. The polymer is kept at the Tg temperature or slightly above to be able to get a gel-like consistency which is good for giving shape and extruding or injecting with desired die/mold. This is what responsible for the various shapes and sizes available in the market in abundance. Injection molding is a technique which produces plastics with infinitly shape and size combinations and this technique is very fast. Hence, to conclude, the formability of plastics is very high once it is softened by the temperature.
