Plateaus have large even surface. Why?

Basically plateau is relatively a large expanse of land that rises above the ground level to its actual extent and then forms a gradual wearing away from the earth’s surface.
This is due to the maker of the plateaus, they come in this shape and we see them being plane completely.

The Rocks of the plateau are layered with sandstones, shales and Limestone. it is this arrangement of the strata which gives it a large even surface .
