as they are less reactive so don't corrode washout with water, air.
they are shiny
they are malleable
they are easily extracted from their ores as they are not reactive they are found in their native state

here's ur answer....

platinum, gold, silver etc are used for making jewelleries because they are malleable. that is they can be converted into thin sheets or chains by beating them. they are also lustrous which means they are very shiny. and this for this nature they looks much more pretty.
