In the case of platypus it is the only mammal which gives both milk and egg as it is also called as semi - aquatic egg laying mammal , but in the place of echidna it is called as *infra class prototheria under the class mamelia* because it is simlar to the human as it is having 4 chambered heart and having mammary gland so because of its nature of laying eggs it is called oviparous
