Answer: Let the two consecutive even numbers be (x) & (x+1) Given, Half of the larger number exceeds, ¼th of the smaller number by 10. In an equation, ½(x+1) = ¼(x) + 10 Therefore, ½ x + ½ = ¼ x + 10 ½ x – ¼ x = 10 – ½ ¼ x – 19/2 = 0
