Hello mate !!!!!!

Here is your answer......

P(x) = x^3 + x^2 -x -1

F(x) = x + 1

Putting f(x) = 0

x +1 =0

x = -1

Now place x = -1 in given p(x)

P(-1) = (-1)^3 + (-1)^2 - (-1) - 1

= -1 +1 +1 -1 = 2 -2 = 0

Therefore x = -1 is a Zero of polynomial p(x)

Hence (x +1) is a factor of p(x) .

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.....

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Zero:

x + 1 = 0

x = 0 - 1

x = (-1)

Replacing x in the polynomial:

x³ + x² - x - 1 = 0 (to verify - it must airways be equal to zero)

(-1)³ + (-1)² - (-1) -1 = 0

(-1) + 1 + 1 - 1 = 0

1 + 1 - 1 - 1 = 0

0 = 0

Hence verified and (x + 1) is a factor of the polynomial x³ + x² - x - 1
