Given

  • Side of a hexagon = 5 cm

To find

  • Area of hexagon

Solution

In the attachment, the hexagon MNOPQR has a side of 5 cm.

Things to knoW :

  • A hexagon is created with six equilateral triangles.
  • So formula for finding area of hexagon is derived from formula of equilateral triangle.

As we know,

Area of equilateral = 3a²/4 unit²

So, area of a hexagon :-

→ Area of hexagon = 6 × (√3a²/4)

→ Area of hexagon = 3(√3a²/2)

→ Area of hexagon = (3√3 a²)/2

Now findinG area of hexaGon MNOPQR :

⇒ Ar(hexagon) = [ 3√3 (5)²]/2

⇒ Ar(hexagon) = [3√3 × 25]/2

⇒ Ar(hexagon) = [75√3]/2

Ar(hexagon) = \sf \dfrac{75}{2} \sqrt{3}\: cm^2

Therefore,

ReQuired answer : d) (75/2)3 cm²
