Let its length be x
LET its breadth be 3x

2(x+3x)=56
x+3x=28
4x=28
x=28/4
x=7

Length = 7
Breadth = 3x=7×3=21.

Given that : The length of the rectangular playground is thrice its breadth.

Let, the breadth = x meter

then, Length will be 3x meter

Also given that : The perimeter of playground = 56 metres.

As we know that : Perimeter of rectangle :

2(l + b)

Now, according to the question :

2(3x + x) = 56 \\  \\  =  > 2 \times 4x = 56 \\  \\  =  > 8x = 56 \\  \\  =  > x = 7

So, the Breadth will be 7 meter

length \:  = 3x = 3 \times 7 = 21

And Length will be 21 meter
