Indirect/Reported speech refers to speech being said to a third person/reporting what happened to a third person.

Example: John said,"They are going for a picnic." (Direct)

John said that they were going for a picnic. (Indirect)

In the above example, when writing in reported/indirect form, the sentence changes according to its tense form. Also, modifications regarding certain words like 'you' changes to 'I', 'these' changes to 'those', 'will' changes to 'would', 'yesterday' changes to 'the previous day' and many other words will have to be made.

1. The stranger told the farmer that he was completely lost and that he was quite scared.

2. The farmer said that he would show him the way out of the forest if he came with him.

3. The captain told the prince that their ship could sail very fast and that even if they didn't start by midnight, they would be able to reach England earlier than anyone else.

4. Mr Menon said that his savings in the bank then exceed ten lakh rupees. He added that he would go back to his village and settle in a farmhouse.

5. The young man told the judge that some time back he had lent that man ten thousand rupees but had never paid them back.

6. He would go to his boss and say that he has tried his best and could do no more.

7. He said that he regretted that the goods he supplied were of on inferior quality.

Hope it helps :)
