hello friend,
a.) this is because through photosynthesis plants prepare their food. and plants are considered the producers who occupy first level in the trophic levels. hence every living organism is directly or indirectly dependent on plants.
b.) it can be also termed the bio-synthetic phase. as it take place in absence of light, & occurs in stroma of chloroplast...therefore its independent of light for performing the photosynthesis.. hence theres nothing wrong in calling it the light independent phase.!
c.)if starch is already present then it will cause obstruction in determining the correct pathway for photosynthesis & getting our purpose of experiment which results in food formation....hence it is destarched before experimenting!
d.)as we all know in presence of sunlight, plants perform photosynthesis & also that it is a reverse reaction of the respiration.so we r not going to get the results for experimenting respiration of plants--if it is kept in sunlight. moreover , plants release oxygen & take in CO2 which is a contradiction to our purpose of experiment.!
