Answer is 1.

To solve the determinant cross multiply.

and subtract the 2nd term from first.

i.e.,[cosa*cosa-(-sina*sina)]

Therefore cos^2 a + sin^2 a = 1.

[Here instead of alpha I've used 'a'.]
