1. Objects have different appearance as they are made of different materials like plastic, metals or wood. Let us check the appearance of the objects. Take a duster, a glass prism, a piece of paper, aluminum sheet, a pair of scissors and a torch. You will notice that the aluminum sheet will appear shiny when it is cut.

2. Physical state tells you whether the substance is a solid, liquid, or a gas. Melting point and the related boiling point tells you the temperature at which thematerial melts or boils. And solubility is how easily a material dissolves in water or another solvent.

3. Transparent substances are those which have the tendency to pass the light through them; ex-glass,air

Translucent-If an object or a substance is translucent, it is almost transparent, allowing some light through it in an attractive way: translucent plastic/glass.

opaque-The substance which does not allows light to pass through them for ex-wood,brick.

4. We use iron and stainless steel to make locks because they are so heavy they cant be broken easily proving a good substance for security they doesn't get a single after so much hits.

5. According to Archimedes the boat displaces a large amount of water from its surface and the amount of water which has been displaced applies an equal amount of corce under the ships surface which is in the contact of water that's why ships doesn't sink while heavy materials like rod nails sink in water after they are so light as compared to a large ship
