1) Write a short note on reign of terror.

The period from 1793-94 was reffered to as reign of terror. Because Robespierre followed a policy of severe control and punishment. All those whom he saw as enemies-ex nobles and clergy, members of some political party even the members of his own party who did not agree with his policies were punished, imprisoned and tried by a revolutionary tribunal. If they were found guilty they were guillatined.

2) Write 5 problems that 3rd estate face in france ?
3rd estate people faces some problems like
°°° They should pay taxes to the 1st and 2nd estate people.

°°°They were not enjoyed like 1st and 2nd estate people (i.e) they use to pay all taxes.

°°°° They were not treated equally.

°°°°Most of them are peasants, they used to work in fields. They dont have freedom to go anywhere else.

°°°°They should be below other peoples that is 1st and 2nd estate.

3)Define directory rule in France?

Directory is the name for the five member committee appointed by king. This was during a few years before the revolutionary. The five directors ruled the country, they overthrew the public safety committee. It was from1795 to 1799.

4)===>During the revolutionary years women were active participants.

=====> In order to discuss and voice their interests they started their own political clubs and newspapers.

====>About 60 women's club emerged in different french cities, the most famous being the society of revolutionary and Republic women.

=====> They wanted to enjoy the same rights as men (i.e) right to vote., to be elected to the Assembly and to hold political office.

=====> Women's struggle for equal political rights during the late 19th and 20th centuries. Finally in 1946, french women won the right to vote.
