1) If A iron piece is heated in the flame, then the colour of the iron piece will be changed as the temperature will be increased and this happens due to Wien’s displacement law. According to Wien’s displacement law, it is given as,
λm T=Constant
So if the temperature increases continuously then the wavelength will be changed. So the colour will be changed. Thus this observation is possible due to Wien’s displacement law.
2) Due to application of heat, the molecules of the lid gain kinetic energy making a little inter particle space between them. Due to this the metal lid expands and the lid opens easily as its circumference becomes greater than that of the upper portion of the jar.
