Answer:

D.280

Step-by-step explanation:

There are coins of 25p , 50p, and 1 rupee i.e 100p

now,

according to given condition

there are 8x coin of 25p----------(1)

               4x coin of 50p-------------(2)

               2x coin of 100p---------(3)

we have to convert all ratio in 100p

hence multiply eq.(1) by 4 and eq(2) by 2 we get

32x=100p(from 1)-------(4)

8x=100p(from2)--------(5)

now add equation 3,4 and 5

32x+8x+2x=42x

the total value of coin =840rs

hence,

840=42x

x=840/42

= 20

there are 8x coin of 25p hence 8x=8(20)=160

                4x coin of 50p hence 4x=4(20)=80

                2x coin of 100p hence 2x=2(20)=40

hence number of coins are 160+80+40=280

Hope you understood Thank you..!
