Explanation:

the number of water molecule associated with a single compound or salt to form its hydrate is called water of crystallization.

look at the example:-

if you heat one mole of copper sulfate pentahydrate salt which is blue in colour, you will get white coloured compound and water vapours around the tube.

p that white compound is anhydrous copper sulphate and the water vapours you get by heating up that blue coloured copper sulphate pentahydrate is the water of crystallization.

if you carefully add water to anhydrous copper sulphate then you will get the same blue coloured copper sulphate pentahydrate.
