substitute (1) in (2) ;
3y - y = 26
2y = 26
y = 13
put y=13 in (2) ;
x - 13 = 26
x = 26+13 = 39
x = 39, y = 13

x/y = 4/7
x = (4/7)y -----(1)
from (1) larger is y, smaller is x;
thrice the larger added to twice the smaller is 56
