Step-by-step explanation:

In right angle ∆ PQS, PS = 12cm

QS = 16cm

we know PS^2 + QS ^ 2 = PQ^ 2

PQ^2 = 12^2+16^2

= 144+256

= 400

PQ = √400

= 20cm

Area of ∆ PQS = 1/2×(12×16)

=96 sq. cm

Area of ∆PQR = √ [s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)]

s= 1/2 (a+b+c)

=1/2(52+48+20)

=60cm

Area of ∆PQR= √ [60(60-52)(60-48)(60-20)]

=√(60×8×12×40)

=√ 230400

= 480 sq.cm

Area of shaded portion =area of ∆PQR - area of ∆PQS

= 480 - 96

=384 sq.cm

Here a = PR ,b= QR ,c= PQ

Hope this will helpful.
