triangle ABC is a right angled triangle

in triangle ABC,

AB²+BC²=AC²

AB²+48²=52²

AB²+2304=2704

AB²=2704-2304=400

AB=root400=20cm

area of triangle ABC=1/2×base×height

=1/2×20×48

=480cm².....1

in triangle ABD,

AB=a=20cm,AD=b=12cm and BD=c=16cm

s=a+b+c/2=20+12+16/2=48/2=24cm

area of triangle ABD=root s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=root (24(24-20)(24-12)(24-16))

=root (24(4)(12)(8))

=96cm²

area of shaded region =area of triangle ABC-area of

triangle ABD

=480-96=384cm²
