[(2x^2) - 4x + 7y ] * (2x^2) = (4x^4) - 8x^3 + 14 x^2 y

(4x+y) ( x+3y) = 4x^2 + 13xy + 3y^2

Answer:

(a) 2x² ( 2x² - 4x + 7y )

= 2x² (2x²) + 2x² (-4x) + 2x (7y)

= 4x⁴ - 8x³ + 14xy

(b) (4x + y) (x + 3y)

= 4x (x + 3y) + y (x + 3y)

= 4x² + 12xy + xy + 3y²

= 4x² + 3y² + 13xy
