The sum of each pair of interior and exterior angles of a regular polygon is 180 degrees. The ratio being 5:1 allows us to find the exterior angle by letting it be x, and the interior angle to be 5x.

So,

5x + x = 180

6x = 180

x = 30

interior angle =5x

                      = 5 × 30

Interior angle = 150

Exterior angles = x

Exterior angles = 30

the formula to find no of sides of polygon is 360/each exterior angle i.e

360/30=12

the number of sides is 12

its a 12 sided polygon
