(1) Zebra crossing
Zebra crossing is the part of any road which is meant for the crossing of peoples travelling by foot. It helps them to reach the other side of the road. As, the part is coloured stripes of white and black, and similar to the stripes of Zebra, it came to be known as Zebra crossing.
- It warns the driver of any vehicle that pedestrian want to cross the road.
- After that, they can give away way for pedestrians to cross the road.

(2) Subway
This helps the pedestrians to cross a busy road by an underground path. Hence, it is known as Subway. Those which is used to cross any busy road over it, is known as Flyover. Subways are most common in metropolitan cities mostly near metro stations.
(3) Stop
We have read in our kindergarten poems, Red light says STOP. In traffic signals, mostly there are three colours. Red, yellow and green. shows STOP, says WAIT and says GO. We use Red many times to indicate any negative sign like danger, stop etc. because Red colour can be distinguished even at a large distance because of its higher wavelength.
