Explanation:
First of all, Compounds are not termed as molecules. Compounds are composed of molecules which are formed when different atoms of different elements combine. For eg. H2O is a compound which is formed when two different atoms (oxygen and hydrogen) combines.
But this is not the only case when the molecules are formed. Molecules are also found when 2 or more atoms combine which are of same type. For eg. oxygen gas (O2) is formed when the atoms of oxygen combines. But this cant be termed as compound because the compound should be composed of molecules which are formed by different atoms.
