5 + (19-x) = 7x

( substitute x as 3 on both sides ) we get

5 + 16 = 7x3

21 = 21

therefore x=3

as the bases are equal powers must must be added and then we get

5+19-x=7x

then solve it we get

8x=24

then x=3
