\huge\sf\pink{Answer}

☞ Answer to the first part of the Question = 0.6x²y +0.4xy²

☞ Answer to second part = -13

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\blue{Given}

✭ We are given 0.2xy(3x+2y)

✭ x = 5 & y = -1

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\gray{To \:Find}

◈ The product?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\purple{Steps}

So here 0.2xy(3x) first here don't consider xy & x and multiply as usual so,

➝ 0.2 × 3

➝ 0.6

And also xy × x = x²y adding it on 0.6

➝ 0.2xy × 3x = 0.6x²y

Then 0.2xy(2y)

➝ 0.2 × 2

➝ 0.4

Similarly xy × y = xy² on adding it in 0.4

➝ 0.2xy × x = 0.4xy²

So then 0.2xy(3x+2y) will be

\sf\red{0.6x^2y + 0.4xy^2}

We are also asked to check the Answer when x = 5 & y = -1

»» \sf 0.2(5)(-1)\bigg\lgroup 3(5) + 2(-1)\bigg\rgroup

»» \sf -1\bigg\lgroup 15-2\bigg\rgroup

»» \sf -1(13)

»» \sf\orange{-13}

Answer:

PRODUCT :

0.2xy(3x+2y)

= ( 0.2xy) × (3x) + ( 0.2xy) × ( 2y )

= 0.6 x²y + 0.4 xy²

VERIFICATION :

We proceed to prove that

0.2xy(3x+2y) = 0.6 x²y + 0.4 xy²

x = 5, y = - 1

LHS

= 0.2xy(3x+2y)

= 0.2 × 5 × (-1) [ 3 × 5 + 2 × (-1)]

= - 1 ( 15 - 2)

= - 13

RHS

0.6 x²y + 0.4 xy²

= 0.6 (5)² × (-1) + 0.4 ×5 × (-1)²

= - 0.6 × 25 + 2

= - 15 + 2

= - 13

Therefore LHS = RHS

Hence Verified
