Dear diary
Today morning I was woken up by my fellow villagers and was told that a battle had begun at Plassey. So without even bothering to change my dress we ran straight to the battle ground. We overheard from the soldiers that the battle was between Mir Jafar and Sirajuddaula, the nawab of Bengal. On one side was a very power ful army and on the other side a weak army of the nawab. We witnessed most of the battle by hiding behind bushes and wells. As the evening drew on the Nawab's army was almost finished when he finally surrendered. Later on I came to know from the soldiers of Nawab that one of his trusted commanders had betrayed in the greed of the throne. It felt awkward for me that a man who had even for his food from the employer has betrayed them. I hope that I don't get to see another battle of this sort atleast in my lifetime Now I want to put down my pen as I am feeling sleepy.
