Answer:

Ok first what is the weight of a proton and how do we find the force between two of them?

W = m*g F = kq*q/r^2

(Since the are both protons, both q's are the same)

Now we set these two forces equal to each other and solve for r, the separation distance:

=m*g

= kq*q/r^2 m*g*r^2

= kq^2 r^2

= kq^2 / mg r

= sqrt( kq^2 / mg)

Where k = 8.99x10^9 Nm^2/C^2

q = 1.60x10^-19 C (elementary charge)

g = 9.8 m /s^2 (acceleration due to gravity...I took 9.8)

m = 1.67x10^-27 kg (proton mass)

r = 0.1186 m
