Answer :-

  • x = 50°.

Step-by-step explanation :-

In the given figure, l || m.

Let an unknown angle be y.

As we can see, 130° and y are corresponding angles.

We know that :-

Corresponding angles are equal.

So, y = 130°.

Now, y and x are forming a linear pair.

Linear pairs are supplementary and add up to 180°.

So,

 \sf x + y = 180^{\circ}

 \sf x + 130^{\circ}= 180^{\circ}

 \sf x = 180^{\circ} - 130^{\circ}

 \sf x = 50^{\circ}.

Thus, x = 50°.

Note :- See the attachment for better understanding.

Know more :-

Transversal :- A line that intersects two (or more) lines in a plane at different points is called a transversal.

Corresponding angles :- The angles that are in matching positions between the transversal and the two lines are called corresponding angles.

  • Each pair of corresponding angles are equal.

Alternate angles :- The angles that are on the alternate sides of the transversal are called alternate angles.

  • Each pair of alternate angles are equal.

Co-interior angles :- The angles that are on the same side of the transversal are called co-interior angles.

  • Each pair of co-interior angles are supplementary, that is, they add up to 180°.
