Answer:

(i) ±√33

(ii) ±5

(iii) 833

Step-by-step explanation:

if x²+y²=29 and xy=2

then (x+y)²-2xy=29

(x+y)²-2*2=29

(x+y)²-4=29

(x+y)²=33

(x+y)=±√33

for the second part,

(x-y)

√(x-y)²

= √(x²+y²-2xy)

= √(29-2*2)

= √(29-4)

= √25

= ±5

for the third part,

x⁴+y⁴

= [(x²)²+(y²)²+2x²y²]-2x²y²

= (x²+y²)²-(xy√2)²

= (29)²-(2√2)²

= 841-8

= 833

it took me a while to type all of that, gauthmath app helped me learn it, if you want to solve them real quick, try using the gauthmath app rather than pleading, btw, I'll appreciate if you give me a "thank you", it will encourage me to help others more.

Have a nice day.
