(1) A is acetic acid CH3COOH
(2) CH3COOH + CH3CH2OH ---- CH3COOCH2CH3
(3) by reacting it with NAOH ( we can get ethanol from it ,we can't get acetic acid back)
(4) this process is known as sponification
CH3COOCH2CH3 + NaOH ---- CH3COONa + CH3COOH
(5) 2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 ----- 2CH3COONa+ H2O + CO2
