(iii) The rest potential energy of the truck is now simultaneously converted into kinetic energy as the truck gains speed.

(iv) Since, the driver has to stop the truck and the speed of the truck becomes zero, indeed the kinetic energy of the truck becomes zero.

For(iii)

the energy changes taking place will be

(i) the truck will gain kinetic energy as the driver drives off

(ii) the oil drums may gain kinetic energy

For(iv)

if the driver stops the truck the kinetic energy will convert it potential energy
