using rationalising process

1/x = 2 - √3 / (2 + √3)(2 - √3 )

1/x = 2 - √3 / 2² - (√3)²

1/x = 2 - √3 / 4 - 3

1/x = 2 - √3 / 1

1/x = 2 - √3 ------2)

adding 1st and 2nd EQUATION

2 + √ 3 + 2 - √ 3 = x + 1 / x

4 = x + 1/x -------3)

°•° a² + b² = ( a + b )² - 2ab just like this

(x + 1/x )² - 2 x × /x = x² + 1/x²

4² - 2 = x² + 1/x²

16 - 2 = x² + 1/x²

14 = x² + 1/x²

hence , 14 is ur correct answer
