1) Volume of cuboid = 3x³-12x
Length × breadth × height = 3x(x-4)(1)
So, dimensions of the cuboid are 3x,x-4 and 1.

2) Volume of cuboid = 12y²+8y-20
length × breadth × height = 12y²-12y+20y-20
lbh = 12y(y-1) + 20(y-1)
= (y-1) (12y+20)
= (y-1) × 4(3y+5)
So,dimensions of the cuboid are (y-1),4 and 3y+5.

(17) Given,
2(a²+b²) = (a+b)²
2a²+2b² = a²+b²+2ab
2a²-a²+2b²-b² = 2ab
a²+b² = 2ab
a²+b²-2ab = 0
(a-b)² = 0
a-b = 0
a=b
