Please answer it!!! Explain the working and application of a sonar.

In a sonar, a transmitter is used to transmit ultrasound and a detector is used to catch the ultrasound which gets reflected from a reflecting surface. It is usually present on ships n boats. It is used for calculating time, speed and distance from an underwater obstacle, iceberg, another ship, etc etc
