Question: give reason-

(a) a person jumping out of a moving bus may fall forward.

(b) some of the leaves get detached from a tree when we shake it's branch vigourusly.

(a) If the bus is moving with any velocity, the individuals and everything in the bus is moving with velocity. But if a person jumps out of the bus, it firstly experiences a contact in his feet and road, which causes friction and makes him much slower than before. But since this friction force is experience by his feet only, his feet stop but his upper body keeps on moving with the velocity of bus. That's the reason he may fall forward(because of velocity and force due to velocity in forward direction)

There is such a condition where someone tries to pull your legs back(not the whole body).

(b): The same law it applicable here. When it is shaked, the branches move with the same velocity but the leaves are still at rest. The sudden change in state of rest to motion detaches them.

These examples are based on the concept on Law Of Interia, which states 'a moving body keeps on moving with same velocity until a opposite force is applied on it, to make any change.
