1) It is the process by which a concentrated ore is heated strongly in the absence of air to convert into metal oxide. It is a process in which Sulphide ore is heated in the presence of air and converted into metal oxide. They are exerted by the reduction of their oxides with C, Al, Ca or Na.

2. Roasting is the step of the processing of certain ores. More specifically process involving gas-solid reactions at elevated temperatures with the goal of purifying the metal component (s). Often before roasting, the ore has already been partially purified.
