Lencho thinks that the people at the post office had stolen the money
The irony in the chapter is that in order not to shatter lencho’s hope in god, the post office workers collect money and give it to him. But they were not able to collect the total amount needed by Lencho. So when Lencho finds the letter with the money, he thinks that the god cannot make any mistake so he calls he post office workers as a bunch of crooks and blames them for stealing his money
