question :-

a batsman Faced 75 balls and hit 10 sixes find the probability that he a) hits a six b) does not hit a six

Given :-

  • no of balls Faced :- 75
  • no of sixes :- 10

To find :-

  • hits a six
  • does not hit a six

solution :-

a) probability of hitting six :-

\rm :\longmapsto\: probability \: of \: hiting \: six \: = \frac{no \: of \: favourable \: outcomes}{total \: no \: of \: outcomes } \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\: \cancel \frac{10}{75} \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\: \frac{2}{15} \\ \\

b) probability of not hitting a six :-

\rm :\longmapsto\: \: 1 - (probability \: of \: hitting \: a \: six) \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\: \: 1 - \frac{2}{15} \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\: \: \frac{15 - 2}{15} \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\: \: \frac{13}{15} \\ \\
