Antonio being a Christian forgives the jew Shylock , it shows that Antonio forgave him and was a kind hearted person

while bassanio did not forgave Shylock it shows that bassanio was too possessive about his friend

bassanio's opinion was proved to be true because Shylock was a stone hearted person
