(i) Here, resistance near p and q is in series as potential difference not same

Req = 5+5 = 10 ohms

Now the 10 ohms will be in series combination with the other 5 ohms resistor

Req = 10+5 = 15 ohms

(ii) in the circuit all the three resistors are in parallel as the potential difference is same between ends of all three resistors

1/Req = 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5

1/Req = 3/5

Req = 5/3
